To be considered as a woodlot for the purposes of a Falling & Bucking evaluation, the proposed woodlot must meet the following requirements:
- The woodlot must be large enough to free-fall each of the trees,
- There must be a minimum of 15 trees per evaluation,
- There must be a minimum of two tree lengths from all roads, buildings or powerlines from any of the trees to be felled,
- Access to the site must be secure from the public,
- Available First Aid must meet WorkSafeBC regulations in case of an emergency:

- Must be accessible to BCEmergency Health Services (BC Ambulance Service) or
- A helipad location must be identified for evacuation,
- An emergency response plan must be in place and have a written first-aid assessment.

- A notice of the project must be posted/published where required,
- A map of the area is required,
- The trees should be 12″ ABH or larger,
- The site is normally expected to be inspected by a QST (an additional fee may apply),
- When not practical for a site inspection, a map complete with pictures may be used and approved by the QST.
