• Minimum one years of field experience
• Minimum one year experience working with all aspects of stone, concrete, pavers and wall systems
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work independently
• Good observation and problem solving skills
• Read and interpret, drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting and strenuous activity
• Calculating proper quantities for material need for daily tasks
Transportation Requirements
- Must have Drivers license
- Own Vehicle Preferred
Job Description
The role of a Lead Hand is a key part in assisting the foreman to keep job profitable on time and reaching the 5% under hours on jobs. It is key that you fulfil your deliverables and accountabilities as follows:
• 40 hours produced on budget and on schedule per week
• Accomplish as a crew to aim for 5% under budget of hours
• Maintain tools weekly
• Screening (setting poles, troweling small areas)
• Using the gas saw for cutting pavers and block
• Understanding grades
• Use of the laser level
• Machine experience (able to unload a pallet off a semi truck)
• Knowledge of all hand tools
• Understanding of paver systems
• Understanding of walls and steps
• Knowledge of planting and mulching
• Understanding the process of laying Turf
• Reading plans and take offs
• Basic use of excavator and track machine
• Measuring areas (ie: turf areas, pavers, etc..)
• Calculating proper quantities for material and not being over more than 10% (ie: turf, pavers, sand, road base, etc..)
• Drive trailer and unload machines
• Understand basic knowledge of plumbing (ie: different parts, proper grade)
• Wiring low voltage lighting
• Being able to grade with a track loader
