Knowledge of the retail garden trade and horticulture also an asset.

Job Description
Overview: A wholesaler and distributor of flower, vegetable and herb seed packets to retailers in B.C. and Alberta is seeking a distribution/sales manager. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated administrator who enjoys taking on a variety of tasks. The distribution/sales manager is accountable for increasing company sales potential; this is achieved through staffing coordination, production scheduling, resource allocation, logistical planning, immediate and long-term forecasting, warehouse/inventory control, distribution monitoring, and direct sales to clients. The distribution/sales manager also communicates corporate values and policies, ensures adherence with standing procedures and objectives, maintains quality service, benchmarks safe work practices, and relays results to the senior corporate body.
General Duties: Increases company sales potential. Recruits, trains, and manages staff, communicating corporate values and policies, procedures and objectives. Planning, monitoring and appraising job results. Develops short and long term strategic plans and financial opportunities. Allocates resources, plans logistics and co-ordinates production and distribution for the seed business. Co-ordinates efforts of production with staff and the corporate body. Builds company image by direct sale with customers. Maintains quality service and benchmarks good, safe work practices. Contributes to the team effort by relaying results to senior corporate body as required.
