HortEducation.ca in partnership with the Canadian Nursery and Landscape Association, previously held biannual online workshops with instructor Egan Davis for Red Seal InterProvincial Exam Preparation. This popular workshop has been made available to all with free access to help apprentices and trade challengers prepare for the exam any time of the year. The manual and practice exam that goes with this seminar can be purchased in the online store for $30 (+ shipping and GST or HST).

The Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist endorsement promotes excellence to employers and clients, instills pride in skilled workers, and facilitates labour mobility. This workshop is 1 hour long and includes our most asked questions answered at the end in a Q&A with workshop participants. This workshop, instructed by Egan Davis, reviews the different exam components while providing learning support through a work booklet manual and practice exam that can be ordered in the Horteducation.ca store. The study manual is referred to throughout the workshop and is a valuable guide while preparing for the exam.

For some extra incentive, British Columbia Residents who pass the IP Exam and obtain their credential may be entitled to a $2500 B.C. training tax credit. Tax credits may be available to residents in other provinces.

Your Instructor
Egan Davis has a lifelong passion for horticulture. Currently, he is the Parks Operations Manager for the City of Richmond. As a horticulture instructor, Egan has taught at in the Horticulture Education Program at UBC Botanical Garden, in the UBC Urban Forestry Program and through VanDusen Botanical Garden’s Adult Education Program. As a horticulture practitioner, he has had leadership roles at VanDusen Botanical Garden, Park & Tilford Gardens and in the private landscape horticulture industry. He is active in the industry on various committees and boards and has participated in both local and international projects. Egan’s practical background combined with his rich understanding of the plant world informs a unique and innovative perspective on the horticulture industry.
