SkillsBC 22nd Annual Recognition Gala

Congratulations to the 2016 SkillsBC competition winners, partners, and volunteers recognized at the SkillsBC 22nd Annual Recognition Gala.

Red Seal Landscape Horticulturalist Apprentices Claire MacLean & Dan Strain from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, won Gold in the 2016 Provincial SkillsBC competition on April 13th at Tradex, Abbotsford. Claire and Dan also won Bronze at the National Skills Competition.

Burnaby Continuing Education’s Red Seal Landscape Horticulturalist Apprentices Cody Zahradnik & Nicholas Murphy won Silver at the 2016 SkillsBC competition; and, Camosun College’s Richard Chong & Lukus Kiwilsza won Bronze.

The SkillsBC Gala was attended by Robert Welsh SkillsBC Landscape Technical Chair and HortEducation.ca staff Bill Hardy & Lindsay Lindholm. The BCLNA also attended, represented by Hedy Dyck (Chief Operating Officer), Jeff Foley (Chair), and Heike Stippler (Landscape Chair).

The 23rd Annual SkillsBC Competitions will take place April 5th 2017 at Tradex, Abbotsford.  Come out to see BC’s Red Seal Landscape Horticulturalist Apprentices compete in the competition, and participate in the ‘Try A Trade’ event at the Landscape Gardening competition station.
