New Foundation Program – TRU, Williams Lake

Thompson Rivers University – Williams Lake Campus is excited to announce the first intake of the Horticulture Technician Foundation Program. This program will provide the foundation knowledge required to become a Landscape Horticulturalist. They select, handle and utilize trees, shrubs and ornamental plants and turf grasses for the design, development and maintenance of public and private landscaping spaces. They also prepare soil, plants, cultivate, prune and irrigate to maintain plant vigor. Furthermore, they control plant pests utilizing appropriate integrated pest management techniques.

This is an ITA certified certificate program. The course is 900 hours in duration and is delivered over 36 weeks, beginning March 28, 2016.

This program will give credit towards level one and two of Production Horticulturalist and the Red Seal Landscape Horticulturalist, which enables graduates to follow multiple career paths.
