He had passion for trees and learning, and encouraged anyone who wanted to improve their skills in the industry.

As the owner of Hawleyscape Tree Service Ltd., he took his passion for the industry to work with him each and every day. He was a board of director with HortEducation.ca and on the industry steering committee that developed the Arboriculture apprenticeship program. His enthusiasm for the program was contagious.
